Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you and PT Buweno Digital Studio, a Perseroan Perorangan (a one-person limited liability company) established in the Republic of Indonesia, with its registered address at Indonesia Stock Exchange Tower I, Level 3, Unit 304, Jl. Jendral Sudirman Kav 52-53, Kota Administrasi Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta 12190, Indonesia ("Lorie AI", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Lorie AI mobile application and related services (together, the "App" or the "Service"). These Terms are effective as of the Effective date shown above and were last revised on the Last updated date shown above.
These Terms also serve as the End-User License Agreement (EULA) for the App. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Lorie AI, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the App.
Please read the section titled "Not Medical Advice" carefully: Lorie AI provides estimates and informational guidance only and is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or clinical advice.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, downloading, installing, accessing, or otherwise using Lorie AI, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented to you within the App (such as subscription disclosures at the point of purchase), form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
We are PT Buweno Digital Studio, a Perseroan Perorangan (PT Perorangan) established under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, with a registered address at Indonesia Stock Exchange Tower I, Level 3, Unit 304, Jl. Jendral Sudirman Kav 52-53, Kota Administrasi Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta 12190, Indonesia. We are the developer and operator of Lorie AI and the entity responsible to you under these Terms.
If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of another person (for example, as a parent or guardian for a minor), you represent that you have the authority to bind that person to these Terms, and references to "you" include that person.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service, and you should delete the App from your device.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Lorie AI. If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use the Service.
The age of majority in Indonesia is 18. If you are at least 13 but under 18 (or under the age of majority in your own country of residence), you may only use the Service with the knowledge, involvement, and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must review and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy on your behalf. By using the Service as a minor, you confirm that you have obtained that consent.
Lorie AI is a health and nutrition tracking tool intended for general wellness. We treat the data of minors as sensitive and handle it with heightened care as described in our Privacy Policy. The App Store age rating (such as 9+) is a content-suitability rating set by Apple and is separate from, and does not lower, our minimum account-creation age of 13.
You also represent that you are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law, and that you are not located in, and are not a national of, any country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
3. The Service
Lorie AI is a nutrition and calorie tracking application that helps you understand and log what you eat and how you move. Core features include:
- AI food recognition: you can snap a photo of a meal, scan a product barcode, or scan a nutrition label, and the App will estimate the dish and its macros (calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat). Manual logging is also available.
- Lorie, your AI coach: you can chat with Lorie by voice or text about your meals and goals, and she can re-estimate or adjust entries. Voice input is transcribed to text using Apple's speech recognition, which (depending on your device settings and language) may process audio on your device or via Apple; only the resulting text is sent to our AI service provider for processing.
- Inner Circle: a private, invite-only space where you and a few trusted people you invite can share goals, progress, posts, and chat. Inner Circle content is shared only with the people you choose, not publicly.
- Apple Health (HealthKit) sync: with your permission, the App reads activity and recovery data from Apple Health (such as steps, distance, active energy, exercise minutes, and sleep) to display your daily activity and Health Score. The App does not write data back to Apple Health.
- Lorie Pro: an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features, described in the Subscriptions section below.
The App is currently available on iOS. An Android version may be offered in the future. We are continually improving Lorie AI, and we may add, change, suspend, or remove features, models, or functionality at any time, with or without notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service without liability to you.
Some features rely on third-party data sources and AI services and on your device's permissions (such as camera, photo library, microphone, speech recognition, motion and fitness, and Apple Health access). If you decline or revoke a permission, the related feature may not function.
4. Not Medical Advice
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ. Lorie AI is for general informational and wellness purposes only. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, nutritional, dietetic, clinical, diagnostic, or treatment advice.
The food identifications, calorie and macro estimates, activity calculations, daily targets, Health Scores, and coaching messages provided by the App and by Lorie are AI-generated estimates. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. AI models can make mistakes, including misidentifying foods, miscalculating portions and nutrition, and producing confident but wrong results. You should independently verify any information before relying on it.
Lorie AI does not replace consultation with a qualified physician, registered dietitian, or other licensed healthcare professional. Always seek the advice of a professional before making decisions about your diet, exercise, supplements, medication, or health, and before starting, stopping, or changing any health-related program. Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read or received in the App.
Do not use Lorie AI to diagnose or treat any medical condition. If you think you may have a medical emergency or eating disorder, or if you experience any adverse health effect, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services immediately. You use the Service, and act on its outputs, at your own risk.
5. Your Account
To use most features, you must create an account using email and password or a supported sign-in provider (such as Sign in with Apple or Google). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. Providing accurate profile information (such as your gender, age, height, and weight) helps the App calculate meaningful targets; inaccurate information may produce inaccurate estimates.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your credentials and your device secure. You may not share your account, and you may not let others use your account in a way that violates these Terms.
Notify us promptly at support@lorieai.app if you suspect any unauthorized access to or use of your account, or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account that results from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
6. Subscriptions and Billing (Lorie Pro)
Lorie AI offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called Lorie Pro, which unlocks additional features. The following disclosures apply to Lorie Pro and are presented to you again at the point of purchase inside the App.
Subscription title
The subscription is named Lorie Pro.
Length and content of the subscription
- Lorie Pro is available as a monthly subscription or an annual subscription. You choose the billing period at the time of purchase.
- During each subscription period, Lorie Pro provides access to the Pro features described in the App at the time of purchase.
- A 3-day free trial of Lorie Pro may be available to eligible new subscribers. Free-trial eligibility is determined by Apple at the Apple ID level (generally one introductory offer per subscription group), so a trial may not be available if you have previously used an offer for the same subscription. The trial duration and the price that will be billed once the trial ends are disclosed before you confirm the purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where a subscription to the same content is offered.
Price and payment
- The price for each subscription period (and, where applicable, the price per unit) is shown in the App before you confirm your purchase, in your local currency where supported. The amount that will be billed is presented as the most prominent pricing element in the purchase flow.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
- If we increase the subscription price, Apple will notify you in accordance with App Store rules. Depending on the size of the increase and your region, the new price may require your consent before it takes effect, or it may apply at your next renewal after notice unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time before a renewal.
Automatic renewal
- Your Lorie Pro subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price for the selected subscription type.
- Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID and works across all of the Apple devices associated with that Apple ID.
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Apple ID account settings after purchase (Settings on your device, then your name, then Subscriptions). Turning off auto-renewal stops future charges; your current period continues until it expires.
Refunds, billing, and management
- Lorie Pro is sold and billed through the Apple App Store (Apple's StoreKit). We use RevenueCat to manage and verify your subscription and entitlement state on top of Apple's billing. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; Apple processes your payment.
- Because billing is handled by Apple, refunds are subject to Apple's policies and are requested through Apple, not through us. We do not control and cannot guarantee refunds for App Store purchases.
- If you already have an active subscription, you can use the Restore Purchases option in the App to restore it. We may apply reasonable anti-abuse limits (for example, a cap on the number of devices that share one entitlement) to protect against fraud.
7. User Content and Conduct
"User Content" means anything you submit, upload, create, or share through the Service, including meal logs and photos, profile and goal information, messages to the Lorie coach, and your Inner Circle posts, chat messages, voice notes, reactions, and shared meals.
Your ownership and the license you grant us
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (to our service providers) license to host, store, process, reproduce, modify (for example, to compress or resize images), transmit, and display your User Content solely as needed to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service for you, and as described in our Privacy Policy. For Inner Circle content, this license also lets us deliver your content to the members you choose to share it with. This license ends when your User Content or your account is deleted, except for content that has already been shared with others, content retained as required by law, and de-identified or anonymized data.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your User Content and to grant the license above, and that your User Content does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party or any law.
Inner Circle
Inner Circle is a private, invite-only space. Content you share there is visible to the members you invite or admit, not to the public. You are responsible for deciding whom you invite and for the content you share, and you understand that members of your Inner Circle may view, save, screenshot, or re-share what you post. Do not share content in Inner Circle that you are not comfortable having other members see.
Prohibited conduct
You agree not to, and not to allow anyone else to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, infringing, or abusive purpose, or in violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
- Upload, post, or transmit content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, defamatory, threatening, obscene, sexually exploitative of minors, or that violates the privacy or intellectual-property rights of others.
- Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, prompt-inject, or misuse the Lorie AI coach or other AI features, or use the Service to generate harmful, deceptive, or abusive output.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, our systems, or other users' accounts; circumvent rate limits, anti-abuse, or security measures; or introduce malware.
- Resell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or your account without our written permission, or impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Use the Service to provide medical, dietary, or clinical advice to others, or in any way that requires a license you do not hold.
We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, moderate, or filter User Content (including automated safety classification of coach messages). We may remove or restrict any content, and we may suspend or terminate accounts, that we reasonably believe violate these Terms, harm other users or third parties, or expose us to legal risk. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice, but we may act without prior notice when necessary to protect users, the Service, or to comply with law.
8. Intellectual Property and License to You
The App and the Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, the "Lorie AI" and "Lorie" names and logos, and all related intellectual property, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for your User Content and the limited license below, we reserve all rights.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the App for your own personal, non-commercial use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Usage Rules. This license does not transfer any ownership to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works of the App except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.
You may submit feedback or suggestions about the Service. If you do, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.
9. Apple-Specific Terms (EULA)
This section applies because you obtained the App from the Apple App Store. These Terms function as the EULA for the App and are concluded between you and us, PT Buweno Digital Studio, only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. The terms in this section incorporate the minimum terms Apple requires for licensed applications; to the extent any provision of these Terms conflicts with the minimum terms Apple requires for App Store applications, Apple's required minimum terms will control with respect to your use of the App as obtained from the App Store.
- Scope of license: the license granted to you for the App is a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, and only as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing where applicable.
- Maintenance and support: we, not Apple, are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the App, as may be specified in these Terms or as required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.
- Warranty: we are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be our sole responsibility.
- Product claims: we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including (a) product-liability claims; (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with the App's use of any health-related frameworks such as HealthKit.
- Intellectual-property claims: in the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- Legal compliance: you represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms: you must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your wireless data service agreement).
- Third-party beneficiary: Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Developer contact: for any questions, complaints, or claims regarding the App, you may contact us, the developer, at PT Buweno Digital Studio, Indonesia Stock Exchange Tower I, Level 3, Unit 304, Jl. 10. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties to function. These include Apple (App Store, StoreKit, HealthKit, Sign in with Apple, and Apple speech recognition), our backend and storage provider Supabase, our AI service provider (Google's Gemini API), subscription management via RevenueCat, crash diagnostics via Sentry, transactional email via Resend, and public food databases such as Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central. These providers are described further in our Privacy Policy.
Your use of these third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, over which we have no control. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content. Some features (for example, Apple Health sync, AI estimates, and barcode lookups) depend on third-party data and services and may be unavailable, delayed, or inaccurate for reasons outside our control.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," with all faults and without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that AI estimates, food identifications, macro and calorie calculations, activity figures, or Health Scores will be accurate, reliable, or complete; that defects will be corrected; or that the Service or its servers are free of harmful components. Any reliance on the Service or its outputs is at your own risk, and you remain responsible for verifying information as described in the Not Medical Advice section.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in that case, some of the above exclusions may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights under your local consumer law that these Terms do not limit.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will we, our directors, employees, or service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, your reliance on any AI estimate or coaching output, any health outcome, or any User Content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the total amount you actually paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, in the currency in which you paid.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights under Indonesian consumer-protection law or the law of your country of residence that these Terms do not affect.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PT Buweno Digital Studio and its officers, employees, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; (c) your User Content, including content you share in Inner Circle and your decisions about whom to invite; or (d) your violation of the rights of any third party. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account directly inside the App at Settings, then account settings, then Delete Account. For safety, the in-app flow requires you to type the exact phrase DELETE ACCOUNT to enable the delete button. When you confirm, we send you a confirmation email and schedule permanent deletion of your account after a 30-day recovery window, during which you can sign back in to restore your account intact. After the recovery window ends, your account and personal data are permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy (subject to limited exceptions for legal, security, and anonymized records). Inner Circle history you shared with others may be anonymized rather than removed.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or any applicable law, if your use poses a risk to other users, third parties, or us, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Cancelling your subscription is separate from deleting your account; manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings. Deleting the App from your device does not by itself cancel your subscription or delete your account. Upon termination, your license to use the App ends and you must stop using it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, the Apple/EULA terms, and governing law) will survive.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
We encourage you to contact us first at support@lorieai.app so we can try to resolve any concern informally. If a dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days of your written notice to us, then, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence, you and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Indonesia located in Jakarta Selatan to resolve the dispute.
If you are located outside Indonesia, you may have additional rights under your local laws (for example, GDPR-style or CCPA-style rights), and nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, legal requirements, or changes to our practices. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date shown above and, where the changes affect when the revised Terms apply, the "Effective" date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the App, by email, or by other appropriate means before the changes take effect, where required.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account. The most current version of these Terms is always available within the App and at our website.

For matters relating to billing, refunds, or your subscription, please note that purchases are processed by Apple; refund requests are handled through Apple per Apple's policies.
